Catwalk and Roof Access Designs

With the increase in industrial/mining buildings in Elko and the surrounding areas we have seen an increase in catwalk and roof access design projects.

Safety in conjunction with Field Level Risk Assessments has become a huge concern for a number of our clients, which has made many of them take a step back and identify how they can make their employee's environment safer.

Catwalks and roof access designs can be very tricky and complicated due to the fact they are normally designed after the facility is completed. This can propose a challenge to design a system that not only meets the needs of our clients, but allows them to stay in production while not jeopardizing safety at the same time.

Lostra Engineering has accepted many of these challenges and will continue to provide quality catwalk and roof access designs for the future.

Mezzanine Designs

Mezzanines in buildings are a very popular way for our clients to increase square footage of their building without the cost of building an entirely new building. Mezzanine designs can be difficult in the respect that not only does the structural aspect of the design play a role, but building type, occupancy and egress can make or break a project. Lostra Engineering is familiar with these design challenges and has been providing quality mezzanine designs since 1991. Some of our more recent mezzanine designs include Cortez Truck Shop and the JADE Center tenant improvements project.

Rigging & Hoisting Plans

In the past few years we have seen a significant increase in Rigging & Hoisting Plan designs.

More and more companies are requiring that safety plans include rigging & hoisting plans.

Lostra Engineering is very familiar with the latest standards, techniques and designs required for rigging & hoisting plans.

Shop Drawings

Shop drawings are a design area that we hope to increase at Lostra Engineering. For many years we have been requiring shop drawings for our steel design projects, anchor bolts and rebar designs, but our company hasn't produced the drawings ourselves. We have provided many shop drawings in the past for our clients and we hope to increase this division of our company in the future.

Steel Building Shop Designs & Foundations

The majority of Lostra Engineering work in the industrial/mining related fields is in the form of steel building designs and foundations. Steel buildings are a very economical building system that is widely used in the industrial/mining field to provide large facility buildings at a relatively low cost per square foot. Some of our more recent shop designs and foundations include the SAS Global Elko Shop/Office Building, P&H Mine Pro, Cortez Hills Truck Wash Facility as well as numerous private shops and garages.

Tanks & Foundations

Lostra Engineering has put a lot of focus on the need for engineering in the industrial field. Industrial tanks and foundations is an area of expertise that Lostra Engineering has been concentrating on since 1991.

With the growing mining and industrial facilities around North Eastern Nevada the need for tank and tank foundation designs has been on a steady rise.

Underground Facilities

A greater number of the local mining companies are turning their resources to underground mining. Lostra Engineering has worked hand in hand with these mining companies to provide quality design projects that meet the needs of their employees and mining operations.

Our designs range from underground shotcrete facilities to portal steel set designs. Underground designs can be complicated and difficult, but Lostra Engineering has the expertise to make these projects a smooth process for our clients.
